This would be on my list as well but I own 3 NM/NM 70's orange sunset pressings that sound like heaven and I have decided that I will be content with those. Settling for a later pressing almost never works but these have the original covers and for Bryter Layter and Pink Moon use the same mastering. The pink I pressing of Five Leaves in any condition is still something I dream of finding though.
Giles Giles and Fripp! I had an original, got no idea where it went. It's not like it's great, but it completes my collection.
I don't think I will ever find a good copy. Cover and or vynil is always beat. They're a lost cause.... Rodney was a sad young man.... Peace, Iam
I'm quite content with my copy of the original Fruit Tree box. Great pressings. On my list, Joy Division on Sordide Sentimental, Orange Juice 'Falling and Laughing' on Postcard. Both things I could have bought, new, in my local shop back in 1980 but spent my pocket money on something else instead!
I wish I knew. There is an instrumental from around 1960-63. Probably sax/keyboard. And another instrumental from a little later in the 1960s. Harpsichord or electric harpsichord. No idea what either is called or by whom.
Frank Sinatra -- FS After Hours. Grateful Dead -- May 1977, 30 Trips to the Sun, Filmore West 1969, Europe 72, Dicks Picks, Daves Picks, all oop box-sets. Elvis Presley -- All Shook Up FTD
PP Arnold - First Lady of Immediate & Kafunta. Francoise Hardy - One Nine Seven Zero. I'm hoping for quality vinyl reissues of these. I'd like more original Pye Kinks LPs, I only have the debut. There's loads of rare albums I don't have and would like, but I'm realistically not likely to get them. I prefer to focus on what I have over what I don't.
You have splendid taste! Falling and Laughing is high on my wants list too, but I've never even seen one. It's the only Postcard 45 I'm missing. I have the Felicity live flexi disc that came with it, with the hand stamped Postcard sleeve. What a great band the original line up of Orange Juice were.
I just got a used beautiful box vinyl set of his that Rhino put out years ago. It's five or six albums of all the best songs he played back then. I loved listening to his shows then! It's vinyl but you might want to seek it out. Not like hearing his shows but the songs will get you close. I take it you are from So Cal.
i think the early aztec camery postcard-singles are not available on cd... does anybody know, if there are plans for a release ?
I'm laughing because back then, it was hard to get them brand new that nice! Good luck on your search...it's so rewarding when you find one!
NO! You'd need to play it and get the most enjoyment out of it. Besides, if you frame it, it will probably just slip off the wall someday and smash into 60 pieces. There's a magic in hearing an original 78, even if it's a noisy copy.
They aren't. There was a feature on Postcard in Uncut a few years back and Roddy Frame said that he had no intention of releasing the Aztec Camera Postcard singles on CD because the 7 inch singles are "perfect". He's right, but why not reissue them on 45? It would be great if Domino, who seem to be able to get the rights to Postcard material, would reissue all the 45s in replica packaging with inserts etc.
