This wasn't the first album I fell in love with, but is was an early love. I can still listen to it and find it an excellent driving album.

Have mercy! I played the heck out of the first song, Thunderbird. I still love that solo.

I first heard it on a bootleg 8-Track, the ones with the day glow colors which shone under black lights. Anyone else remember those? Bought at the local head shop when I was 14. (Don’t ask!)

From the other posts, looks like I'm a bit younger than most here on the forum. But I played this cassette tape over and over again... The album still holds up strong after all these years.

This is a really tough one. When I was really young I had albums by Bill Cosby, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf, Simon and Garfunkel, and James Taylor, not to mention the Monkees even earlier, who I finally lost interest in as I entered my teens. Loved my early Monkees albums, laughed with Cosby, played the second side of Inna-Gadda exclusively, grooved to the Wolf, both S&G and JT spoke to my sensitive side. I guess the Monkees were my first love, but they released a lot of LPs in short succession, so I won't say I fell in love with any one record in particular.

That is an incredibly offensive album cover.

  18. Bridge Over Troubled Water very closely followed by Abbey Road. Some 40 years later I am still playing both of them on a regular basis.

Without a doubt it was Depeche Mode's 1987 album Music for the Masses. Depeche Mode in CinemaScope. I was 12 years old when I first heard this album, in around '89, and still today I listen to it with exaltation. It's a masterpiece.

This was a special album to me in Jr. High also. I still play it a couple of times a year, and it still sounds as good as ever. Takes me right back to the fun I was having in those days.

I had this on 8-track when I was a kid. My friends and I would listen over and over. We thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Kimono My House by Sparks. Played it to death when I got it in 1974. Many happy hours trying to work out what Russell Mael was singing about

  24. Andy Smith

Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

God....I hate myself for saying this.............but it's another Beatles nod. Listen, I refuse to pamper to the myth, but the truth is the one I played over & over as a 6 year old in 1964 was 'A Hard Day's Night'. I liked it far better than any of the other albums my parents played. Guess I fell in love with it. It's still my favourite of theirs to this day.
