Lol...pretty sure you're right about the cables...and yep this could be fun.

 

Can it be changed so we can pick more than one? Voted turntables but cables and Dacs are right there too.

I would say cables, for sure. There is almost always a cable thread with lots of replies and views in the first 2 pages.

 

There are also the threads about high-res audio.

Format flame-wars disguised as other subjects.

 

If people would be using the search function here or Google's search engine a bit more many, many posts could be avoided. In some cases even should be avoided. Very often I don't even bother reading threads anymore because of it's repetitive nature.

Cable threads are reliably full of bizarre vitriol and not worth getting involved in. My advice, to anyone who might one day ask, is. Get the cables you like, for any reason you like. Then whatever you do, don’t tell anyone on the internet about it.

 

Rega versus Technics. Digital versus Vinyl. Mac versus Yamaha. Tubes versus SS.

 

So long as posters enjoy the social interaction with other hobbyists, no subject will be "overplayed".

 

As bad as the cable threads are, I think there are way more threads around turntable advice/carts/vinyl cleaning/etc
