I've always thought of II as being the colorized version of the classic I, but made even better because of the bombastic tracks "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker" and "Ramble On" -- my three favorite LZ songs in the early 70's after "Immigrant Song". So II.

I love the whole concept of In Through The Out Door. Of course you need all the variants to really appreciate it.

Though I voted for Houses Of The Holy I think that the album covers of the first five LZ albums are some of the best of all times

III-------I always felt that the cover made up for some shortcomings in the music. It appears I is edging it out, oddly I think it's the worst of the great LZ album covers.....

Houses of the Holy has a very arresting cover,

Same here. And while you may not have been able to articulate about the mystique, it makes perfect sense that you can't do so.
There is just "something about it."

I is my choice, but Zeppelin never really had bad cover art. III is amazing from a true artistic standpoint, & who doesn't love the die cut Physical Graffiti cover? Truly a hard decision, but I is so iconic and SCREAMS "look at us!". Love it.

Led Zep 1 because because Led Zep 2 it has the only cover I really like.

I'm slightly worried for people that pick Houses of the Holy. Must be big Jimmy fans.

Honestly I love them all...even CODA is classy. After Remasters Zep artwork for my taste becomes less appealing: BBC Sessions, Early Days/Latter Days, How the West Was Won (Yuk), Mothership and Celebration Day:hurl:
I voted for III (followed by Graffiti, Houses, II and IV ).

Yep, with Presence as the worst. By a long mile.

My vote went to Houses of the Holy - with Physical Grafitti following. They are not my most favourite LZ albums, but the covers are great and they go well with the music.

 No way I could pick. They're all fantastic. The only one I don't like as much as the others is Coda.

ITTOD - I think the sepia-toned images of the Bogart-like dude burning the "dear John" letter capture the spirit of the music within. A sort of wisened, fiery melancholy.

I also dig the sort the understated artiness of the cover to The Song Remains The Same - a live album/movie made at one of the most famous venues in the world, so here's a rendering of a dilapidated theater.

All Zeppelin album covers are memorable - Coda for all the wrong reasons - but I voted Houses of the Holy... favorite LZ album, favorite cover... it's the full package!

It's a picture of innocence yet strangely ominous, eerie, otherworldly... mysterious, abstract, oblique, alluring. I remember seeing it before I got into music or even knew who Led Zeppelin were... it made an impression even then, I can tell you.

And I don't care if the original mixdown masters were used for the 2014 reissue or that it's digitally sourced... the vinyl sounds amazing... anyone on the fence about that, buy with confidence!

Presence & “ZOSO” are probably my favorites. Love the mysteriousness.

Houses of the Holy is up there as well.

First album cracks me up especially since they used it AFTER getting permission from the Zeppelin family to use the name.

I voted for four symbols. I've always liked the mystery of where that painting came from (did Plant really find it in a junk shop? Hmm). Not to mention (if we're counting inside covers as well) the mystery over Barrington Coleby and the Hermit image.

My favorite is IV. The whole package is just magical to me. I've always loved that inner sleeve and the gatefold, and the cover image is so striking.

2nd place is III. Such a beautiful and intriguing package for a rock album.

I and II give me a thrill just because they remind me of the great music in them, but I wouldn't call them great covers.

Presence is my least favorite. It just screams "bargain bin."
