    Stardust: "You Kept Me Waiting" as done my Jim Maclaine and the Straycats (sung and played by Dave Edmunds). Should have been a huge hit in the real world.
    Plus "Make Me Good" and some others, all great. And "Stardust" by David Essex.

    This may be technically off-topic, but the movie Matt Helm, which I've never seen, had an instrumental called Lovey Kravitz. Somehow it was given lyrics about the character and sung by the Everlys and appeared on an album.



    If that doesn't count, Blues Hammer.
