When did ebay's search function become so freakin' useless?

I haven't really used ebay in 6 months or better. Now when I search for something I get a ton of unrelated crap in the results. Even going to advanced search and clicking "exact words, exact order", it still brings up a bunch of junk that doesn't match what I searched for.:realmad:

And I know it's not a new feature, but this "We removed some search results to show you the most relevant listings." thing is irritating crap, too.

    Rant over.

:agree: 100% but I'm not sure exactly when it started. It's a real PITA and it only makes get out of there that much faster. Suit and tie marketing geenieasses I suspect.

When they removed the wildcard "*" function.

Have you searched with Google or Amazon lately? Same nonsense... prioritizing your search result to items of increased profitability for them.

I tried to look at records today and used the Genre tab to restrict it to blues records. Apparently they send a bot through the listings and if "Blue" or "Blues" is anywhere in the title they will change the Genre tab to Blues and show it. I looked at "blues" records including a Jack LaLanne exercise record, square dance calls and Blue Oyster Cult.

I'd like to see Jack LaLanne cover BOC...now that's something to get moving to! :D

    Yes, Amazon is horrible, too.
I don't use Google. I use Duck Duck Go. They don't track your every move like the big G does.:righton:

eBay's is getting rather annoying but it's nowhere near as bad as Amazon's. You would think that Amazon, being the huge company that they are, would have a decent search engine.

Ask me how I'm negatively impacted by using Google.

I can find what I need without any issues.

    I won't ask (and didn't in the first place:rolleyes:) because I don't really care.

I can also find exactly what I want using DDG.:righton:

So why the rant, then? No issues using eBay's search function either.

Because I don't need your approval to rant.

No issues? Great for you!:righton: You are in the minority with that opinion, though. And again, nobody asked.

Your thread is on a public msg board and I don't need your permission to participate. Seems you're incapable of digesting differences in experiences and suggest you take a couple of these which may make your petty attitude a bit more palatable in the future --> :chill:

Agreed about being on an open MSG board. That's why I didn't need your permission to start the thread. BTW, you are the one who replied to me first, basically telling me I am wrong for not using Google, and that you use it. Again, good for you!
    Have a nice day.:targettiphat:

Never did such a thing. You stated Google tracks your every move, insinuating it's better if it doesn't. I merely wrote that I use Google and stated it doesn't impact me negatively to use them. Talk about flying off the handle over nothing. o_O
