I tend to use it till if fails.

If your paying a tech $80-100 dollars an hour the labor cost will kill you.

Yeah. When I do the math, I start thinking maybe I should just trade in and get something that's going to last me for the next 20 years. A more sure thing, perhaps.

Sorry for this semi-off-topic post, but this assertion of deceptive behavior on the part of Schiit jumped out and surprised me. My impression is that by and large Schiit is transparent and open about its sourcing and manufacturing chain to the point of long-winded tedium.

    From a Schiit FAQ page:

Do you seriously make your stuff in the USA?
    Yep!

But wouldn’t it be cheaper doing it in China?
Maybe. But we’re not going to find out.

Well, hell, all your parts are probably Chinese anyway, right?
Um, no. The vast majority of our parts, on a total cost basis, come from right here in the USA, from companies manufacturing their products in the USA.

The intricacies of “offshore” supply interest me less than the accusation that Schiit “tricks” buyers by actively “disguising the origin” of its constituent parts or units or whatever —despicable, lying piece of Schiit behavior, in other words.

Disappointing if true. Is it true? How do you know about this seriously unethical alleged behavior?

I seemed to have mis-rememberered the manufacturer that showed revealing takes of their assemblies coming out of the box. Apologies to Schiit - it was VPI.

    Anybody been to VPI’s factory?

Then there's also "Musical Surroundings" Phono stage recommendation around $2000
