    Which is your favorite Zorro?

I picked Langella. I had a good memory of it and always thought it was a theatrical released movie. About 20 years ago I tracked down a copy of it (a rip of something on a DVD, my first ever ebay purchase). I found out then it was a made for TV movie. Langella and Montalban treated it like they were in a well made theatrical movie. Everyone else knew it was made for TV.

I've never seen the Fairbanks one.
I don't remember watching the Hamilton one. I didn't know if I should included it but I am pretty sure someone would have picked it as an other.

Banderas was good. The main problem I had with it is that I never really like the plots where person goes from nothing to expert swordsman/suave gentleman in about 5 minutes.

    "THE GAY BLADE"-
Not for Hamilton, but for Ron Leibman as Esteban!

Guy Williams in the old Disney TV series. Still have my Zorro lunch box based on that show.

The 1957 and 1990 tv-series are the ones I remember as a kid. The first Banderas movie was a lot of fun seeing in the theatre

    ?????

OK I assume you were a kid in the 90's and the 57's were repeats. The other way doesn't compute. I am surprised they showed repeats of 57 series.

Based on the clip above, I definitely never saw the gay blade.

I voted "other" because Alain Delon's Zorro is "mine." I remember seeing it on CBS in the 70s and loving wvery minute of it. As an adult, I have revisited it and it isn't necessarily as great as I originally found it to be.

However, Oliver Onions' "Zorro Is Back" is one of my favorite movie songs EVER! "Heerre's to being free. La la la la la la la, Zorro's back!"

Exactly how I felt about the Langella version. Funny how nostalgia and time work.
I looked up the Delon version. I may have to check it out.

F'n Ay Guy Williams! How could you leave the Disney Zorro off the list? Some of us grew up with him!

FYI - There is also an Alain Delon version out there somewhere but I haven't watched it yet.

Sorry - before my time. I don't even remember seeing re-runs.
Assuming most of the others are for Williams, the race is between Williams and Power.

You should definitely check the series out. I'm sure a popular Disney show like that would be easily available on DVD. :)

  21. There really hasn't been a bad mainstream version of Zorro. It's an easy character to write and served as the template for many superhero adventures to follow afterwards.
