    Burning Shed for new records.

I no longer buy second hand unless I can inspect them.

I buy everything in person. Local record stores, thrift shops, Goodwill, etc...:)

When I was living in Austin I did this. In the Dallas area, not so much.

I've had good luck with Bullmoose. I really like Soundstage Direct as well.

Doesn't Dallas have nice record shops or thrift stores? I would think more than where I'm at in the Oakland bay area.

Have you ever been to a little place called San Francisco? You might want to check it out. :agree:

It's too little and overpriced, including bridge tolls and parking.

When I lived closer to civilization, I always tried to have my local record store order them for me. In my case, that was Rock n Roll Land in Green Bay, WI. They'd have the album at or near, often lower, than the price of online folks.

Now that I'm quite a ways away, I usually work with Amazon or SoundStageDirect. On occasion I've bought from other online sources, but these are my go-to's.

I chose other. I buy from Amoeba Records. Free shipping in the US and I live in California so I get records in 3-4 days.

thats a good point. I forgot how much bridges are costing these days. SF is an expensive place even for the locals.

I love SF. But it ain't the city I grew up visiting as a kid and young adult. It's become the 1%'s playground.

You can get new vinyl pretty easy here, but it's basically the vinyl version of top 40 albums. Hard to find much outside of that without going mail order.

No kidding? That's just wrong. And Dallas being a megalopolis, you'd think otherwise.

Yeah and since they started ripping up all the streets and knocked down the freeway, to tell you the truth, I do tend to go to Bezerkeley Amoeba more nowadays, which I actually think has gotten better than the SF one. I was recently at the LA Amoeba also and that place is one ring that rules them all. I pulled some incredible stuff out of there.

I also like Light in the Attic - a good source for stuff like Italian Film Soundtracks and other hard to find import items. Prices are reasonable also.

They pack well, free shipping over $25, and early discounts on new releases. Great customer service too.

Every time I ordered from Soundstage it would take 14-16 days to receive an order, so I assume they don't stock much. So, after splitting my orders between Amazon, Elusive Disc and Soundstage, I now go to Elusive first, and then Amazon if Elusive is out of the item. I find both packs everything perfectly, though from some photos I have seen around here it sounds like I have been simply lucky with Amazon. Sometimes they just slap a label on top of the album and then ship it like that! Photos of that are always a source of humor unless it is a rare record.

Best Buy is my go to for standard releases.
Sometime they have fantastic sales that are hard to pass up. For audiophile releases like Mofi, they are higher for some reason.
If I'm ordering one audiophile release, I use Elusive Disc because I can go media mail and its only about 40 minutes away. I still get them the next day.
For orders of multiple audiophile releases over $100, I go with music direct.
This is my process I always stick with.
But ALWAYS check for best buy ' s sales every few days. They are fantastic when they have them. They usually last about a week but occur only a few times a year.

Soundstage Direct is about a mile away from my house in Doylestown. They let me stop by and pick up my orders. Very nice people.
