So you watch all the MCU movies just so you can turn them off within the first 15 minutes?

    Bohemian Rhapsody...

The dialogue was so corny it must have come from Iowa!!

Granted I watched for 30 minutes, but it was embarrassing. There has to be a better movie than that on Freddie Mercury’s life.

A perfect example of what happens when you let your subjects have too much say in the making of the movie.

No. I don’t watch them at all! I see the trailers for the new ones coming up and it’s the same old crap. BTW, I did watch “Black Panther” all the way through. What a pathetic film!

Absolutely! The whole "Like a Virgin" monologue is classic, and while Tarantino may not be a great actor (especially compared to the likes of Keitel, Buscemi, etc), his delivery of that speech is highly memorable. I can't imagine anyone else reciting those lines. Fantastic opening scene.

Coyote Ugly. I couldn't even finish it on a plane trip to London. Even with all those beautiful women in it! It was that bad.

Juno. Also on an overseas flight. The contrived dialogue was unbearable. I bailed on it.

You would likely only get one when there isn't direct involvement from the band itself.

This (not so well known) scene with Tarantino still cracks me up. It’s his take on what Top Gun is really about.

The thread is about movies you started to watch and quit within 15 minutes, not movies you never started to watch at all.

I quite like Waterworld. It is nowhere near as bad as its reputation.

I don't think "Waterworld" is a good movie, but it's also not a terrible one.

It's mediocre, IMO - it comes with some strong parts but is too up and down to be a good movie overall.

It also wasn't a bomb. Because it cost a then-insane $175 million, it lost money, but it still earned $264 million worldwide, and that'd be like $450 million now.

So it was clearly a disappointment financially, but not a bomb.

Some claim that due to home video, "Waterworld" eventually did turn a profit, but man, that seems tough to swallow given the budget.

Based on the usual multiplier, it'd have needed to eventually rake in somewhere between $450 million and $500 million to go in to the black, and I'm not sure I believe video and cable would make it an extra $200 million+!

Thanks to streaming we have the luxury of leaving a flick without having to leave the house. I've done it many times over the years, but most recently I pulled the plug on Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. Unbearably smug, self-satisfied writing, tossing away practically everything related to Suicide Squad (which I also barely made it through but at least there was an interesting cast and an imaginative plot; I had no experience with the comics). Yuck.

The first time I watched Batman V. Superman I gave up very early on. Found it a confusing, jumbled mess--but admittedly I had not yet seen Man of Steel. Once I saw that one (thanks HBO Max) I gave B V S another shot and it was a much more watchable experience. The extended version really cleared up a lot of plot points for me, although I still found it depressingly dark and muddled in parts. I had been spoiled by the witty dialog, touches of humor and more sympathetic characters of the Marvel flicks, I guess. Justice League was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, I must say. Looking forward to Snyder's extended version.

I feel that way about most of the Marvel Universe movies after the first few. The scripts are just terrible (hard to follow), too much CGI, too much comic book humor. Definitely not my cup of tea. Same with the latest Star Wars trilogy.

That's your privilege, I guess
I think that was the point. I found it witty and appreciated the wink-wink attempt to recreate the period. Reminded me of the underrated Hail Caesar in that respect. Gary Oldman can do no wrong in my book.
