That regular Spotify-reddit is usually packed mostly with playlists, so I also recommend this one where there's more talk and discussions going:

I actually like Linn Radio. They have 3 stations: Jazz, Classical, and Linn. Using a Asus t100 tablet feeding a USB cable to my Emotiva pre-amp at 96kHZ.

  16. I’m on the Deezer train for the next three months.

    • It integrates well with the Google Home Mini and Google Chromecast enabling Voice Command
    • CD quality
    • AirPlay and Bluetooth compatible
    • Lyrics
    • Has Jerry Garcia Band in its catalog
    • Pleasing interface on iOS

The two biggest reasons Apple Music gets my money is the ability to edit metadata and the fact that iTunes Match will upload my local files.

Another useful feature is that it will allow you to download 256aac files that are ‘matched’ in your personal library. So I was able to take some old 192 kpbs mp3s and upgrade them. If Apple HiFI lets me turn my remaining mp3s into ALAC files that will be amazing.

  18. Yeah, Apple Music is still the best of all streaming services.

I like to mix up my services. Do Apple Music for awhile, switch over to Deezer for a few, jump on over to Tidal, check in on Spotify, see what’s new with Quboz.

It’s fun and they all offer a different experience.

I still have Pandora and Spotify via student discount subscriptions (I take a photo class at the local community college each semester which qualifies me). Spotify is better for discovering music, Pandora is excellent for creating radio stations around a genre or artist. At this moment, I'm playing my Tommy Flanagan station. Pandora does a great job of curating these stations IMO. I might drop Spotify after I'm no longer eligible for the student rate. Have to see what they're doing in the future. Have not even considered trying some of the other services listed in the original poll. Streaming is background music so lossless/CD quality is not important to me. And I have to say, at whatever rate I'm receiving both services, they both sound just great to listen to. Unlike most here, I'm listening to the song and not worrying if there's something minor in the recording that I'm not hearing. Then again, I don't consider myself an "audiophile" in the current usage of the word.

Nice! These subreddit pages provide an approximation for music service popularity if we look at the number of members in each subreddit.

    Amazon Music - 2,500 members

    Apple Music - 71,600

    Deezer - 4,900

    Pandora - 3,000

    Qobuz - 1,200

    Spotify - 299,000

    Tidal - 18,300

    YouTube Music - 30,200
