You do realise that "L" is a contraction of the Italian equivalent of "The", and as such should be ignored? Unless you don't own anything between Avw- and Lec-, please re-file under A. Thanks!
It depends what cataloging system you're using. There are many libraries and archives that do not account for articles in foreign languages.
In vinyl, Led Zeppelin is sandwiched by The Leaving Trains and Tom Lehrer. We will all go together when we go through the out door. Only one Led Zeppelin CD, gently nestled between Lawrence Arabia (*) and Shirley Lee. (*A band named Lawrence Arabia, not the soundtrack to "Lawrence of Arabia.") (UPDATE: After years in the wrong position, it appears it's a guy calling himself Lawrence Arabia. In which case Zep's new neighbor would be Matt Laurent. And Mr. Arabia will have to be shifted to a spot between The Ark and the CD single for "Barbie Girl" by Aqua. Which serves him right.)
Lead Belly and Brenda Lee. On my iTunes, three songs ("Long Lonely Nights" by Lee Andrews and the Hearts, "Walk Away Renee" by the Left Banke, and "It Had Better Be Tonight" by Lena Horne) block Zep from my half-dozen or so songs by the Lennon Sisters, thus depriving me of the novelty of having the two extremes of my collection back to back!
Alphabetically: Lambchop / The Lemonheads According to JRiver Media Player: Lauryn Hill / The Lemonheads
Ha, I have 4 shelves for LZ: - Essential Albums, between Lenny Kravitz "Are You Gonna Go My Way" and Arthur Lee "Vindicator" - Rest of the Hard Rock albums, between Johnny Law "S/T" and Legs Diamond "S/T" - Japanese Mini LP CD's, between Kiss "Psycho-Circus" and John Lennon "Plastic/Ono Band" - Regular CD's, between The Law "2nd, unreleased album" and Little Guitars "A Tribute to Van Halen"
I do not fully alphabetize, as I would be to much of a hassle moving CD's around in the Binders that I store them in, but I have all the "A"s together, "B"s together, etc...
