I’m curious, too. One internet dealer seemed to have regular deals. I’d probably prefer to buy locally, but didn’t get the sense my local dealer would budge on the prices. Shopping is tough due to covid restrictions.

I believe that ListenUp is the only US dealer authorized to sell Hegel online. I purchased an "open box" DAC (not Hegel) from their Warehouse Deals section at a great price, and as far as I could tell, it was brand new.

A few other authorized Hegel dealers might do "phone orders" for non-local buyers, but I don't think any of them are permitted to use an online shopping cart for it.

It seems like a lot of dealers offer “open box” as a way to discount. Am I reading the situation correctly?

On the topic of who is selling what.... I see Rogue Audio has gone to Audio Advisor. I guess too many b&m stores are gone.

Safe & Sound. Great prices, they have a physical store too. Their packaging for shipping can’t be beat and just great all around customer service.

    Hegel Music Systems

Almost went for a Hegel amp from them. Did buy my Yamaha from them.

If anyone is wondering, ListenUp is great people. I bought many things from them (nothing made by Hegel though) and I was offered very good prices and excellent customer service.

I have been reading reviews of Hegel H95 Integrated amp/dac for a new system I am planning for our cabin in Thailand. Does anyone here recommend that?
At that price point for amp/dac in one box there is also Bel Canto and Auralic Polaris.

Hegel make great amps. Safe & Sound in MA does a lot of mail order. The have an open box H90 for 1500 bucks right now. They also know how to pack gear for shipment.

I really want to hear a Hegel! Seems like their damping factors are among the highest available (one of their integrateds has DF of 2000 and another 4000)and I value that spec. Good luck finding an "open box" deal or a discount in general. :)
