  3. Was Nico kicked out of the Velvet Underground ? Perhaps it was a natural splintering?

    Two words: Sharon Osbourne

I could add another word, but that wouldn't be nice, would it?

A friend of mine, although he himself of course see it as he quit.

  7. R. Totale

    R. Totale The Voice of Reason

Davy O'List comes to mind. He had longer runs with The Nice, Roxy Music and Jet but also served briefly in Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull. I don't know the exact circumstances of leaving the first three, but was apparently drafted in to the last two when their respective guitarists quit and let go shortly afterwards.

she was never really considered to be part of the band. it was Andy's genius idea to put the VU and her together. that's why the first album is called The Velvet Underground And Nico. anyway its great that it happened, as we got Femme Fatale, I'll Be Your Mirror and All Tomorrow's Parties out of it....

Hair bands & heavy metal bands seems to have a revolving wheel of recycling guys. Keri Kelli, Graham Bonnet & Jizzy Pearl come to mind. Rudy Sarzo & Tommy Aldridge too. A buddy & I have a running gag that Jizzy Pearl & Oni Logan have free passage on every hard rock themed cruise in case one of the bands sacks their singer at sea.

I don't know who got kicked out of what band, but David Coverdale must be in line somewhere up the top of guys who had the most players in their band.

    Brian Robertson.

Thin Lizzy, Wild Horses, Motorhead and Frankie Miller all dispensed with his services, and I'm certain that list is neither exhaustive or comprehensive.

Nick Oliveri was was allegedly kicked out of The Dwarves for being too much of a loose cannon (quite a feat from that band all things considered) and Queens of the Stone Age for.. more or less the same, I guess.

Not sure why he left Kyuss first time around but I guess there's every possibility that that could be the hat-trick.

I thought of him too (even though he is a great drummer). Possibly also Jeff Beck Group and Whitesnake.

For Tull he was just one of the many guitarists who tried out to replace Mick Abrahams.

Allegedly, he liked teens not considered adults in some places. (Journey's manager mentioned that in a lengthy writing that probably isn't available online anymore.)

Patrick Moraz was dismissed from Yes during the "Going For The One" sessions. And then he was also fired from The Moody Blues around 1991, I think.

No chance. Miles Davis fired John Contrane at least 27 times from the 50's quintet.
