With the original director, play's author, and stars all gone...what approach do you think a remake of " WHO'S Afraid of VirginiaWolff? " could take? 3-D, in color, with cutting edge anime sequences! Jay-Z and Beyonce and Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, perchance?????
No!!!! Well, maybe. But Kidman would be the only believable "small college town type" with the heart of a volcano. Thank God no one's been daft enough to attempt a remake of this one.
It’s a play, I’m fine with new actors trying it out. Not sure who I think would work well though. The film works because burton and Taylor have that lived in drunken love and hate realistic mix pour out of them, and they’re mean but charming in a weird way. It feels very real that first 30 minutes before the other couple arrive. Not sure who I think could pull me in the same today. Might be fun seeing Kate Winslet as Martha. Maybe Ewan Mcgregor in burton’s Role? I could see him with the bitter humor and emotional rangd
No. I'm pretty sure Martha say: "What a dump! Where's that from? Huh, Where's that from?" and Burton says something like "What's what from?" I love it because it's such realistic dialog -- so banal.
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? Script - transcript from the screenplay and/or the Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor movie
Sorry you’re right, I was just slow to remember how the opening scene went. Liz says ‘what a dump’, what’s that from?’ - the Bette Davis scene I found is what she would have been thinking of.
