Why aren't there more knockout Neil Young cover songs?

Considering Neil's amazing, voluminous catalog, you'd think there would be a dozen that would immediately leap out as recognizable and beloved. Here are a couple more recent ones that do the job. Just discovered the Boz Scaggs one the other day. Feel free to post your underappreciated favorites.

Not exactly underappreciated; regularly regarded as a high water mark of cover versions...

 

An older favorite.

 

The best Neil Young cover is by the pixies.

 

Frankly, I think it's because Neil is just too uniquely... Neil...

His songs are so personal (eg: Transformer Man)
And his style of delivery is both so unique, and so integral to the songs, that anyone else's cover / interpretation is immediately 50% disadvantaged just by not being... Neil...

It's the Neil-yness of Neil's delivery that makes Neil's songs so Neil-y.... err... or something...

 

Australian alternative rock band The Church. I love this cover. Excellent guitar sounds by Marty Willson-Piper and Peter Koppes.

Linda Ronstadt - Love Is A Rose

 

There are a number of interesting Heart of Gold covers. This is one of my faves, and recorded in the late 1970s.

Phenomenal. Thom Yorke could do a Neil tribute album all by himself.
