What are the issues you have with those Songtrack remixes?

I'm not sure what anyone could possibly be expecting for a stereo remix of these four track recordings, if the Songtrack remixes are considered misfires.

but that's not a good thing...the remixes should have been given to the best qualified...IMO, they should not have been done at all...but that's another story...

Wasn't Sgt Peppers also a 4-track recording? Is there something different about the 4-track recordings of Rubber Soul or Revolver vs Sgt Peppers that makes those 2 earlier albums more difficult to remix? I must be missing this info in the article...

I've never seen another Rubber Soul cover group shot.....there must be another, one shot is too little down at John's place. Contact sheet lost?

Wait a minute, there are people who actually listen to the stereo mixes of Rubber Soul and Revolver when the mono is available?

    I kid, I kid.

Well, I find this news disappointing. I was hoping for 5.1 remixes of these wonderful recordings, but I appreciate Martin not putting something out that doesn’t rise to the high sound quality standard of the original productions.

the Giles haters on this forum are freakin moronic. You beat the crap out of the guy for 1) daring to remix the originals or 2) remixing that isn’t faithful to the original or 3) remixing that isn’t different enough from the original and now beating him up because he declines to do a remix for sound quality reasons.

the worst aspect of it all are the totally unnecessary personal insults and attacks on him. Grow up children.

He never would have gotten it if he wasn't qualified beyond DNA relations, despite what armchair mixing experts on this forum think about his work subjectively
