Ah, thanks for that info. I hope I get <3000 then. I’ve got it on special order from a local record store...
I guess because this was their biggest seller, so maybe they think it has the most market (although I think that is not correct as Love and Electric has grown in stature in comparison). What I would want rather than more luxurious releases for those albums is some sort of Deluxe for Dreamtime, I hope they will go back to that one now that they have done the big ones. It would be great to have the complete Dreamtime Live At The Lyceum reissued, the audio of course but why not include a the video as well. There has only ever been a VHS release of the footage, and the only CD that has the complete concert was only included with that package, not as a stand alone release (it is on streaming sites though).
Yes, I know, I guess the poster I was replying to meant a huge LP box set...? I'm a CD guy myself when it comes to new releases like this, so I don't worry about that. But how about a 3-CD+DVD release for a Dreamtime Deluxe? CD1: original album, CD2: singles (including all four versions of "Ressurection Joe") and Radio Sessions (from Rare Cult), CD3 & DVD: Dreamtime Live At The Lyceum (and of course if there's anything unreleased to add).
Oh yes, I'd buy those too for sure (but after that I think my interest stops). I'm just hoping they don't forget Dreamtime and just continue moving forward (if there will be any more of these at all of course, which I'm afraid maybe there won't).
Well, not sure I'll get the 5CD set since it's out in CD quality on Amazon's new HD music streaming service (90-days FREE!). I'm listening now - nice!!! I may spring for the 2 LP set though.
Loving the demos. A real treat to hear the tracks in a ‘raw’ state. Anyone have any info on where/who recorded the ‘pre’ Rock demos?
All the demos are recorded at Track Record in Hollywood, in two sessions. For the first session on June 11, when they recorded 14 tracks, John Carter is credited as engineer. For the second more serious pre-production session on August 13, when they re-recorded 8 tracks, album engineer Mike Fraser and Bob Rock attended (the ones that say "Rock Demo").
Thanks 99thfloor. Been doing a bit of digging and there some more info here on the wikipedia page if you scroll down to Rare Cult: The Demo Sessions Rare Cult - Wikipedia Can't wait till the live dates next month!
Just received a notification from Amazon Canada that my 5CD set order has been cancelled for some reason.
Just seen the US tour dates online. I assume more dates to follow. The Cult Sonic Temple US tour dates Dec 06: Montclair Wellmont Theater, NJ Dec 07: Port Chester Capitol Theatre, NY Dec 08: Silver Spring The Fillmore, MD Dec 10: Huntington The Paramount, NY Dec 12: Mashantucket Foxwoods Resort Casino - Fox Theater, CT Dec 13: Atlantic City Hard Rock Casino - The Sound Waves Theater, NJ Dec 14: Boston House Of Blues, MA
I received a couple delay e-mails, too. With the last one saying the box set should be shipped on the week of September 30th. What’s weird is my order is saying both were shipped, and then delivered. But, I only received the vinyl. I messaged Arkive about it and only got “we will send them out when we have them.” Lolol, I only wanted to know why it says they’re both “delivered,” though... So that didn’t help.
Yup, pre-sale was days ago - I expect the reg sale is Friday. I can't wait to see 'em again at an outstanding (and famous) venue.
It says this on the Beggars site: Released *DELAYED* Oct 4th (World ex-US) + Oct 11 (US) 2019 I suppose it can be because it is manufactured in Europe...?
Enjoying it? I’ve been listening to it extensively the last week or so or Spotify. The combination of demos/unreleased tracks/single edits/remixes/live tracks has been a winner for me. Thinking of either buying it now or sticking it onto the Xmas list. Decisions decisions.
I have the 2LP and the CD boxset. Still waiting for the LP/cassette boxset. I haven't opened what I've got yet. I have listened to the CD boxset on Spotify and think it's good.
