Now everyone is dunking on my Yvettes, but I’m happy with my purchase, and I hope you enjoy your new Harbeths

Fantastic those are endgame speakers, endlessly musical and quite full range and I'm sure a fantastic combo with your Luxman. Well done sir!

The REL sub xover is not really a 3 dB or anything. It's got a curve but the numbers mean little. Almost by ear.

I'll do test tones and pink noise tomorrow but right now the balance matches the KEF's (after lowering the xover and gain) and it sounded 'right', tight, not boomy, and tonal with some impact.

    Here's the thing:
No bad choices here, only what fits your application better. I wanted those, but could not make the physics work.

I am glad we BOTH won.

At this point I think we need to see your Yvette's too dueling fireplace setups!

    Here's stupid question:
    Which is L and R?
In the manual they show a rear hook up view
From the back, the right is on the left
So front facing the right is on the right

but in the photo the badges are on the outside?

Badges to the outside....serial numbers end with L/R are meant from behind speakers as you would read them

I have no doubt any Wilson speaker sounds amazing. I just couldn’t put them in a space where I need to live. To each his own!

That looks fantastic! And your fireplace looks just like record racks! :D

What's the rest of your system btw?

I had the same issue with mine, and they’re identical but apparently the odd serial numbered speaker goes on the left. I still have the casters on because I’m playing with toe in, and once the casters are off they’re never moving.

Thanks, fireplaces are a hazard with two small children. So this solution is best for everyone. I splurged after the used speakers and purchased a used Pass Labs XP-12 and 250.8.

That sounds like quite the combo congratulations! And PA is turning into a serious hifi mecca, apologies if it already was one and I just didn't know.

I enquired about Harbeth speakers a couple years ago on another forum as I never quite "got" them and all their "fanatical fans". I do a bit more after my post, but I still have yet to see or hear them. No doubt I could live with a pair. :uhhuh:

Here is that Harbeth banter for shiggles.

I need to borrow that line. "Honey, the fireplace is a hazard to our children but don't worry, I will block the fireplace with records and Wilson speakers" :righton:

It has a low probability of success, but huge payoff, if it works

Those overworked jerks! I can understand not carrying them to the front door but to not even ring or knock? Bologna!
And seriously, pluck those grills off. I want to see the goods delivering the sonic bliss. A closeup of that wood grain would be appreciated too!
Congratulations to you. Lust-worthy amp and speakers in short order, well played!

I thought the same thing about ET...then thought it would be in his best interest to keep his whereabouts unknown;)
