The texture of the Wild Life one is a different one... AGAIN? That's the third type of paper used in that collection!
Other than seeing the charge on my credit card, I’ve gotten zero communications from Paul McCartney.com, period, concerning my order. I didn’t even get an email receipt.
The rough mix of Wild Life from the mega set reminds me of the live version on one of the menus of the McCartney Years DVD. Absolutely brilliant.
Holy cow YES! I would pay good money for that, especially with a few Michael high kicks thrown in! I bloody love The Lemon Twigs...
David Fricke was on the Beatles Fab Fourum last night and raved about the Wild Life album which is why he did the liner notes for it.....Good stuff he had to say. They played the Dear Friend Home Demo and it sounded great with the kids crying in the background. The show also played the RRS bonus track "Tragedy"....sounded crystal clear but seemed "slowed down" especially the part "you've gone from me......oh oh...Tragedy"....later mixes obviously sped up this song a little.....
Also on last night's show David Fricke said in the Wild Life box is the story on why Hugh McCracken decided to decline joining Wings in 1971.... I guess for nearly 10 years Paul had no idea why McCracken declined.....Paul met with Denny S in the early 80's and asked him if he knew why McCracken declined........ Denny S said it was because Hugh knew that Wings would be a "road band" as well as a studio band and that with 2 very young kids, he did not want to be away from them for that long of a time for a tour....... I guess Paul told Denny S, "hey I get it, I had young kids then, he could have just told me that".......
Is there a long rumored McCartney love song compilation in the works ? Seems like a no brainer, oddly I've never thought of that. It could be really good, if they used his hit love songs from both the Beatles & solo years. If it's just solo songs, I wonder if he has enough, unless you dip into a lot of deep album cuts. As famous as McCartney is for Love songs, a majority of the solo hits aren't. My Love Silly Love Songs Maybe I'm Amazed But unless you want to dip into more obscure lesser known LP tracks, Warm & Beautiful, Beautiful Night etc you need his Beatles love songs mixed in, for one huge 15-20 song album of big hit love songs ? So back to the new box set, I'm still trying to hear-read about the long sought studio version of 1882. Any new clips ?
There's a few more Waterfalls Only Love Remains No More Lonely Nights So Bad From A Lover To A Friend I wouldn't buy it
Yeah, those rough mixes (that I’ve heard on bootleg) are really good. I think calling them “rough” is a misnomer—I think they are just alternative mixes).
Please post a pic for those of us who have Amazon delivery tomorrow. My local Target said they are carrying the 2CD versions of Wild Life and RRS just like they did for the Imagine reissue 2 months ago!
"I think we could start out, you know, little....... And then have a crane over there, with a camera, swoop right into Denny's face."
