Little off-topic (but not so much): This summer I went on vacation in Southern France, in the area of Arles (exactly, where the Wings played in July 72, at the Theatre Antique) Of course I went to the actual theater and imagined the band right there, that was something! During those few days I also went to some different record stores, and I was "surprised" to see they ALL got MANY copies of... Wild Life ! (One store in Arles had like 5 copies of it!) So I guess because of the show (before or after it), the album was pretty successful there! (They played many shows in the South of France) And also my dad (who isn't from South of France tho) used to hear Bip Bop a lot in fairs at the time (along with George's What Is Life)
Some People Never Know sounds even more magnificent than it ever was! (I know many people praise the DCC remaster, but I never had a chance to listen to one of them or get one, and I don't even know if Wild Life had a treatment)
Outtake I is just a short acoustic number, with some words whispered around A mix between Bip Bop and Bip Bop (Link) @Arnold Grove That set is definitely made fuh you
Outtake II is even more useless Basically 10 seconds of nothing, just Paul noddling 2 chords on the guitar Okay it's from the Wild Life sessions, so it's rare I suppose, but nothing worth waiting 45 years to got it
Oh, the list goes on and on and on... Pick your favorites from this list: Maybe I'm Amazed Every Night *Love Is Strange My Love One More Kiss When The Night No Words Love In Song You Gave Me The Answer Silly Love Songs Warm And Beautiful Girlfriend With A Little Luck Arrow Through Me Waterfalls So Bad Through Our Love No More Lonely Nights Yesterday [Broad Street] Here There And Everywhere [Broad Street] For No One [Broad Street] Only Love Remains *Bring It On Home To Me *Don't Get Around Much Anymore Motor Of Love The Lovers That Never Were Winedark Open Sea Calico Skies Heaven On A Sunday *No Other Baby I Do Magic Your Loving Flame A Certain Softness This Never Happened Before Anyway ... My Valentine I got tired of making this list at Chaos, feel free to enhance it. Also, this does not include live versions of Beatles' songs like Yesterday, The Long And Winding Road, For No One, Things We Said Today, Here There And Everywhere, We Can Work It Out, All My Loving. I don't see anything wrong with getting into "deep cuts". After all, Pure McCartney is not exactly all hit singles..... * [Not a McCartney original]
OH MY GOSH WHEN THE WIND IS BLOWING Is this heaven? It sounds magnificent, people might call it too sugary sweet, but it feels like you're flying into a cloud... ...what? No I haven't take my English tea yet
That's what I used to think it stood for back in 1974.... of course, I was a lot younger & naiver back then...
Doubt the big barn box will arrive tomorrow. If so, nobody will be in and it’ll go to the delivery office. At least Amazon will leave the vinyl in the rear porch for me!
I'll just have to spend the weekend with all of the vinyl getting delivered tomorrow and the tracks on Apple Music. Hate that we have to wait so long for the big box. Has anyone emailed them asking when they will be shipped? I may just do that...
OUTTAKE III SERIOUSLY??? OUTTAKE??? It's like 5 seconds of Paul playing 3 notes on his guitar?? You serious?? That's bullsh*t! (Not the "thing" itself, but the use of publishing that and call it an "outtake") Next time MPL, publish an exclusive recording of Paul going to the toilets and call it Farttake XVI, it's exactly the SAME.
In all honesty, as the original one sounded pretty crappy, I can't even tell if it's the same ! I'll compare in a few minutes
