The whole damn thing will be an experiment in virtual reality. Rather virtual unreality. Put on your Google Goggles and feel the mud in your underwear.

No idea why this festival even needs to represent itself as Woodstock. Kind of like putting a random band into the Fillnore space and calling it "the Hendrix concert from 50 years ago",.

1994's one of the best years in music of all time. Plenty of albums from that year have aged remarkably well.

It's 100% branding. In this day & age, I'm sure this concert will have nothing spiritually in common with the original.

    Woodstock 94 was pretty cool.
Woodstock 99 forever ruined any further "celebrations".

I knew 99 was BS when they stuck Entwistle on the smallest stage they could.

That said, maybe if they can get The Who, John Fogerty, and Dead & Co.? It might end up with a little bit of legitimacy.

Emphasis on “might”. I’ve got no stake in this anyways. Just a music fan.

I played at a Woodstock anniversary concert 5 years ago at Yasgur’s farm. It was weird. There were all these 20 somethings in tie die looking like it was 1969 without any of the vibe. And then there were people in their 70’s. Hippie burnouts. Little in between. The spirit just wasn’t there, but how could it have been? These are very different times for better or worse.

I just got back from seeing John Fogerty at the Oakdale. Excellent show and he played all his greatest Creedance hits. Sounded great and his son is in the band and is an excellent guitar player.

John even played his Rickenbacker guitar he used at Woodstock.

I ain't going back to Woodstock for a while,

Though I long to see that lonesome hippie smile.

I'm a million miles away from that helicopter day,

I don't believe I'll be going back that way

If neil does it i’m in

It's actually pretty amazing how many significant originals are still playing 50 years later: Arlo, Baez, Santana, CSNY, The Who, most of the GD, the Hot Tuna part of Airplane & the Family Stone

I'd go to a weekend fest full of music by those acts.

I heard that "perched in a tree" seating will be $330 + fees. The VIP trees will be $850, which will include trained massage koalas.

Oh, you forgot to mention overflowing toilets, by the way. Best segment of the movie, perhaps.

Maybe the Santana 4 lineup would play, unlike my expectation/hope for the Santana/Journey tour which did none of that material at all.

EDIT: oh my god, almost forgot to mention The Beatles!
    ...and Kind Of Blue...
