Didn't Atlantic License them from Cotillion?
Eric Blackstead was the set producer. I guess I'm not entorely sure. I was born after this event.

Doesn't matter - I would think the tapes would be owned by Atlantic.

As far as Cotillion goes, I had thought that was just a subsidiary of Atlantic.

And for various formats - the 2" tapes would be the 8-track masters, while the 1/4" tapes would be the stereo mixdown masters.

Same thing was on eBay about 2 months ago. More important things to spend that kinda money on, too. Something smells like rat, there.

    Hi,

Looking at the PDF file makes me think there are a few things fishy here. Still, if a few of the tapes are true master reels then a few $k is my bid. Of course i'd want to see and hear the tapes BEFORE the money changes hands. So count me in on the bidding. It'd be cool to bring and play at an audio show :)

Hmm...looks to me like the majority of things are safety copies, DATs, or cassettes. Even some of the "original" stuff says it's a copy. It looks like the "original" stuff are mixes of tracks that never were released (ie, CCR).

I have to wonder wht the reserve is on this item. If the collection is valued at 1,600,000.00, I don't think $2,125 would cut it. What do you think the reserve is??

If one purchased these tapes, you couldn't release them for profit, unless you cleared the music rights for each artist...or bootlegged them...correct, Anyone ?

Not completely. Four tracks (Commotion, Green River, Ninety-Nine and a Half (Won't Do) & I Put A Spell on You) are avalible on the 1994 Atlantic boxset.
