FYI..the screen archives presale of The Front and Crimes and Misdemeanors has started..just locked in my order.
Radio days is one his his most beautifully lit films and the art direct is stunning so it should be great on BR
Received my Twilight Time blu ray of Crimes and Misdemeanors yesterday and it's a remarkable upgrade compared to the DVD. If you're a fan of this movie, it's worth the 30 bucks. Get it while you can! Looking forward to Broadway Danny Rose in April!
I watched Crimes and Misdemeanors last night and I thought the Blu-Ray looked fantastic on my television. The only bonus content was the trailer and a little booklet. I plan on watching The Front later this week. On the flip side I was very disappointed with the picture quality of the Swedish import of Bullets over Broadway.
Based on the ones I have, Annie Hall & Manhattan look great. Midnight In Paris as well. Hannah and Her Sisters is good, but overall not particularly as bad as some may suggest. It's pretty much the same source as the DVD, but at least it is the better choice if you want to watch it on an HD TV.
My grades on the quality of these Japanese Blu-Ray's: Mighty Aphrodite B+ Everyone Says I love you B+ Bullets Over Broadway D Small Time Crooks A-
At first I just thought it was the tint of the film, but It seemed to get worse as the print progressed. Also, the top of the screen is slightly crooked so there is a black bar slightly visible on the top left! Still, if you are desperate for a 16x9 transfer... I'd love for Criterion or at least Twilight Time to release Bullets.
Reviews of Crimes and Misdemeanors and The Front. I think he's a little curt when it comes to The Front. Maybe not a great movie, but one I've always enjoyed: http://fridaynightboys300.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/woody-allen-crimes-and-misdemeanors-and.html
Broadway Danny Rose is available for pre-order at Screen Archives: http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/26865/BROADWAY-DANNY-ROSE-1984/
pre-ordered the other day. can someone explain, how does this site operate..they have a listing for Husbands and Wives. Where does something like this come from? http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Husbands-and-Wives-Blu-ray/88312/
Blu-ray.com has a preliminary page/template for many popular movies not yet on blu-ray. It's not an indication of an impending release as many of these pages have been up on the site for quite some time. This particular template for H&W has the option for an email alert when it's released.

After watching it for the second time last week, I think Interiors is overlooked and would visually be a great candidate for blu ray. The cinematography of Alice and Another Woman could make those blus look stunning as well. Add Manhattan Murder Mystery and Husbands and Wives and my HD Woody collection would be set. (I'm not sure some of the "early funny ones" like Bananas are HD-essential.)
