    Songs

Worst: A difficult choice. If he has any songs that I despise, I haven't heard them yet. I'll say "All I'm Thinkin About" because it sounds like he's elected to sing it in the wrong key.
    Best: Rosalita
    Overrated: Radio Nowhere
Underrated: Queen of the Supermarket - This one often seems to get singled out as his worst. I can think of a lot of his songs that I enjoy less.

    Albums

    Worst: High Hopes
    Best: Born to Run
Favorite: The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle
    Overrated: Tunnel of Love
Underrated: Lucky Town- An album that endeared itself to me when it was new. For that reason, I can see past the early 90s production. That said, I couldn't really fault anyone for naming Leap of Faith as his worst song.

Although I know that you're not completely serious, Springsteen is remarkable in his consistency. When I think of major recording artists, only Dylan, Neil Young, and Bowie are comparable. I say "major recording artists" because there are many lesser-known artists who are even more consistent. For example, Richard Thompson, Yo La Tengo, and Wilco.

One person's over-rated is another's under-appreciated. Plus the old addage "the higher you climb the harder you fall" is true.
    With that:
    Born to Run
    Born in the USA
I'll let you decide which is which. :)

  11. Worst Album: 'The Ghost of Tom Joad'
Worst Song(s): Every song on 'The Ghost for Tom Joad' with the exception of the title track and 'Youngstown'
    Best Album: 'Born to Run'
Best Song: Far too many to narrow it down to one. 'Brilliant Disguise" maybe?

You have what's considered his peak 1975-1984, Born to Run-Born in the USA. I guess everything he's made after the 1992 comeback is in its shadow to a degree. I can understand why because Springsteen's golden years is of an unreal quality. But... "The Ghost of Tom Joad" (1995) is his most literate album. It's not 'catchy' but it's well written songs/stories and a great album.

    Worst song: "The Wrestler."
Because he obviously wasn't thinking when he wrote the lyrics (just wanted something to go with the "one trick pony" thing), and nobody in his entourage had the guts to say: "Well, about that dog, Bruce..."

Have you ever seen a one legged dog makin' his way down the street

Worst: Working On a Dream, by a mile. (even the not-great Human Touch has the fantastic title track and a couple other gems)

The Rising isn't only Springsteen's most overrated LP -- it's the most overrated LP of all time. Absolutely cringeworthy.

I refuse to accept that the album Born in the USA is overrated.
I understand very well that overrated doesn't mean bad, it only means that it's not as good as so many claim it is,
    But I disagree.
Many who claim it's overrated do so because it's his biggest seller and the one that every casual fan owns.
I own every Bruce album on cd through 1992.
I can't speak for the albums after that but I can tell you that Born in the USA holds up extremely well with all his albums that came before.
I'm not saying it's his best but I also don't think it's really beneath any others.
So it's only overrated to those who know the majority of his work.
    But ask yourselves this.
Do you think any of his other albums could be so well received by the masses?
Born in the USA is a more commercial album, but that's not a bad thing.
I know it's hip to claim the most successful album isn't one of the best ones, but song for song Born in the USA is not just a good album, it's a great album. So imagine that the individual songs on it were different albums. Would you hear them the same as you do now? Imagine the a album never existed and spread all of it's songs out among other albums. I'm confident they would be perceived differently.

This version of The Promise has always been one of my favorites....
Least would be any song he uses the fake drawl on, very distracting...
