I agree with you here .... no idea what the aesthetics are but some people seem to like totally meaningless pictures , another band with similar cover art is Deerhoof the album is called " Offend Maggie " and
Yeah, you've gotta be young to pull off the "skinny jeans" thing. If he went for boot cut he'd look great IMHO.
To be fair to Riggs, he definitely wasn't the only one to fall for those sterile CG aesthetics. Examples from around the millennium are abundant. I guess the novelty and "shiny-factor" of the medium made a lot of talented graphics artists temporarily blind...
Well I sampled on Amazon. Definitely a karaoke vibe on what I heard. Someone on Amazon stated that the woman above played the role of Jan Brady on the Brady Bunch Variety Hour in the late 70s.
Yes, she is Fake Jan. That's literally her claim to fame and what she trades on for her "career." What a country.
And they did it TWICE...back to back albums, no less! (and I also have always thought the Bowie Next Day cover was crap. Tries way too hard).
I bet this looked better when it first came out, just like CGI in movies that often doesn't age well.
And here I thought she was a real estate agent/model as someone else posted earlier in this thread. Won’t say more as I want to stay on this board.
This one really takes the cake. It’s just brutal. Unlike some of the covers on this thread, this monstrosity looks thoroughly thought-out—and no one stopped it. Where was Young? Where. Was. Young??????????????
I know in this day and age of micro technology the album cover has being reduced to the size of a postage stamp and no one gives a hoot anymore, but come on guys you can do better than this.
