Rather give that cash to a worthwhile charity. And I don't consider this a charity case.:)
Just a thought, but why don't artists of this stature give a few FREE personal performances to long time fans?

You'd have to give me 50K to see that idiot (or the band he comes from).

I wouldn't pay $50K for anyone to come over and play music regardless how they would sound. I will say that I can't blame Gene Simmons for doing this. If people are willing to throw away their own money then I see no reason not to do it. If anyone here is willing to pay me $50K, I will come over and play any song you want to hear. I can not guarantee you will like what you hear but I will do it.

I watched most of the video.......couldn't get through it all, way too cringeworthy. I wonder if any one thought they got their money's worth?

Maybe. But would I have to stay for the whole show? I'd like to leave before the Vicodin wore off.

To me, just the idea of it is embarrassing. Paying someone to sit in my house and sing a few songs for me?

Just how ridiculous does hero worship get, anyway? That's rhetorical.

Seems like a good idea, until it actually happens and they are as bored and detached as Ace and Gene.
I don't begrudge anyone making a buck, but this "sit in front of the fireplace in my fancy living room" thing is about as anti-rock and roll as you can possibly get.

I could be wrong, but something tells me that the Stones, no matter how bored and detached, would be fine as long as they’re playing the blues. I think it comes so naturally for them - it’s like walking.

  19. I don't know if it still holds, but as of 15 years ago, and if his schedule was open, Japanoise legend Merzbow would play anywhere for a flat $1000. Plus expenses and first-class airfare and accommodations, though.

I'd take Merzbow over Gene Simmons any day, even if they charged the same amount.

Yeah, because how many times can you do a "farewell" tour before it means absolutely nothing?
