Is this really a great find or is this another joke thread?

Heh, silly. Unless you're a collector, the sound is harsher and less musical than the German "A2--B2" cut for 30 bucks.

Wish I had it though. History. I have a mono with that label but it's not the same..

But for $12,000.00 dollars US you could get a lot of music.

This is as real as can be. The seller is totally legit.

Think I'll stick to my German "Die Beatles" A2/B2 copy.

Very curious to see what it sells for. Might be more than $12,000...

That's my take when it comes to collectibles. Not that I don't have a bunch -- I do, but I ended up with them because of sound quality.

Still, it would be a cool thing to own.

Am I the only one who, whenever I see ridiculously expensive auctions like this, seriously wants to place a bid just for the hell of it because you're guaranteed to get outbid, but can't get past that sinking worry of "Oh crap, what the hell am I supposed to do if I don't get outbid?" :D

I've bought records from him before. Solid.

I love the Beatles but I'm not an expert. Can someone please explain me: What is so special about this LP? Thanks!

Beautiful gold-label copy. Don't see these too often in such nice condition.

I paid one-half of one percent of the current bid for my copy of Die Beatles.....

Steve, would you eat brown rice and hang out with hippies for a few years for this one?

I wonder if the lucky winner will actually PLAY this LP? I'd be on the fence myself...

EDIT: although clearly the seller played it to make those sound samples, right?

One of these seems to sell every month--they're constantly at the top of the eBay recently sold list in RECORD COLLECTOR.

Yes. This one is really special because the vinyl condition is so exceptionally clean.

True that Die Beatles is more hifi, but as the needledrop demonstrates, this record makes for an entertaining listen.

BTW I have no connection to the seller, other than I bought a few LPs from him.

A good first press record of this pedigree is really no different than having a first printing of an iconic book or literary work. Very cool.

I would be very hesitant to even play such a high price item. Also it's not just samples, it's the whole LP. He does that for all his listings.

Where do records like this come from? It's almost like Back to the Future. McFly or Biff goes back in time, snags a few choice Beatles platters and hits 2011 to make a big cash grab ;)
