Wow, Sears turntable goes high end on ebay

    It's a good table. Made by Technics. I have one similar, but a direct drive. I doubt it's worth that kind of money though.

    Yep. Sears had some LXI-brand stuff, IIRC. MCS was definitely Penney's. Probably not a bad table, actually, but not $800 worth of "not bad."

    The speed switches were faulty in those models, needing lots of cleaning and eventual replacement.

    Haha, I love that. Right after the VO says, "So incredible in sound...!" they drop the needle on the record and it's some crazy synthpop thing.
