X-ray'ed tape ?

    What would be the audible effects of a tape that has been xrayed? I received a tape from ebay which although seems to be in fine shape, there are some occasional sounds that sound like microphone feedback. These sounds are only a few seconds here and there, but at one point one got sorta loud. Where could these sounds have come from?
