  2. Seller has a couple other black triangle CDs as well, a couple I've never seen.

How does the black-triangle CD of Skylarking compare to the MFSL gold disc? I have neither one.

You need both versions if you like XTC, one has Mermaid Smiled, the Ultradisc has the better known Dear God. I think the Ultradisc sounds a bit better but I know I am probably in the minority here, my MFSL was US manufactured.

Are there sound differences between the MFSL versions? I recently picked this up and didn't even think to check for country of origin!

No, I was kidding as the Black Triangle is Japanese while the Ultradisc is American made and usually here the japan is preferred :). It was released after the label switched to a US manufacturing plant,. How do you like the Ultradisc?

    Whew! I was worried there!

I only just got the Ultradisc a few days ago and have only played it once but it beats the living daylights out of the US Geffen CD IMHO, which I have always thought sounded flat and sort of rotten. I haven't compared to the Virgin remaster (which is slightly too loud/brickwalled but I don't find nearly as bad as a lot of folks here do), and I've never heard the black triangle at all.

I am looking forward to this new "polarity fixed" vinyl version though! Cut on 45! Wheee!

Thanks, Barry. It's never easy. You can never stop at just one version. ;)
