I'm not in to his super-early stuff. I did though like "We Don't Talk" and "A Little In Love" cuz those had some interesting chord changes in sections. Not a big fan of his measured singing on those though and the songs are a little plastic-y. I think I almost liked Devil Woman when it was charting.... but maybe not.

Just listened to "In the Country" for the first time. I dunno... I was kinda looking around for Mr. Kincaid.

It's very hard to pick a favourite between the first two. As for Summer Holiday, I like the song and I saw the movie when it came out in 1963.

Cliff's best early song: his cover of the Stones "Blue Turns To Grey", oh yeah...

    Not another Cliff thread.:D

I honestly wouldn’t know where to start... I suppose We Don’t Talk Anymore and Miss You Nights could be contenders. I dearly love Take Me High too.:hide:

Cliff’s had so many great songs from so many eras it’s almost possible to single three out.

Anyone who loves We Don’t Talk Anymore should check out Cliff’s 1980 I’m No Hero album. Very much in the vein of the aforementioned classic and containing the excellent singles Dreamin’ and A Little In Love.

    Just ask @Jarleboy :D

mine are from three different eras of Cliff's long career

    1. Dynamite - my fav Rock & Roll number from my childhood that got me into buying records when I was aged four ! (it was bought for me but I contributed some 'pocket money' to it)

    2. Blue Turns To Grey - great Cliff/Shads cover of The Stones song
    3. Up in The World - superb Clifford T Ward song Cliff sang so well with great strings arrangement

can we do another three as well....?

SO MANY gems from Cliff !

it's Time Drags By I think you mean - yes ?

although Shadows drummer Brain Bennett is playing harmonica here in the film 'Finders Keepers' it was Jimmy Page on the studio recording in 1966

So many to choose from, but my favourite would be this 1986 UK #1 hit when he had some up from this legendary alternative comedy British quartet:

    Runners up:
    Dreamin'
    The Day I Met Marie

I know I'll change my mind shortly but, for now...

    "The Next Time"
    "Carrie"
    "Constantly"

Or is it "We Don't Talk Anymore," "Bachelor Boy," "Shrine on the Second Floor"?

Or... or... or.... I forgot "Voice in the Wilderness," "Miss You Nights," "Fall in Love with You"!
