If you are referring to the Immersion set, then yes - I believe so, but it is my understanding that it contains 2 CDs, 2 DVD-A, and1 blu-ray. 5.1 or 4-channel can only be encoded on DVD-A or blu-ray format. But the elements not present on standard CD stereo mix are present in the 5.1 mix, I am almost certain I read that somewhere.

    *edit:
I just checked the Amazon listing and according to the descript. the DVD-A disc contains both a 5.1 surround mix AND the original 1970s quadraphonic 4-channel mix.

    edit#2
okay, so - not sure how this checks out in terms of actual surround playback versus re-channelled to two-channel, but according to

    QuadraphonicQuad Pink Floyd Surround Pages

    excerpt:
"In an exclusive agreement with Analogue Productions and only available through their Acoustic Sounds website, EMI and Pink Floyd released the long awaited SACD of the album with the 5.1 James Guthrie "Group Approved" surround mix. .... The SACD does NOT contain the 1970's quadraphonic mix of the album."

    ----

I don't know if this SACD 5.1 capture contains the original 1970s quad-mix elements or not.

I don't know much about Radiohead but i read they're big on recording albums in analog. So their catalog would hugely benefit from the MoFi treatment

Has MFSL reissued any albums that were recorded digitally? The Gorillaz catalog NEEDS an audiophile digital reissue

  14. The Stone Roses could definitely use an audiophile label tackling their small catalog.

Well, given their predilection for American artists and my own sense that I've maxed out on pre-1980s titles (though, okay, MFSL Steely Dan, please), I'll second:
    Prince
    REM
    Sonic Youth
    Talking Heads
    Smashing Pumpkins (great idea!)
And since the Police were slightly American, let's throw them in too.

    Prince
    Bowie
    Aerosmith
    Donny Hathaway
    Bob Marley
    Peter Tosh
    Nina Simone
    Louis Armstrong
    John Martyn
    John Lee Hooker
    Buddy Guy
    T-Bone Walker
    James Brown
    The Stooges

    The Columbia Taj Mahal albums
The rest of the Miles Davis catalogue (they're Miles releases really are phenomenal)
    Here's Little Richard

  23. Anonamemouse

Anonamemouse my other pink shirt is black too

Queensryche - every Geoff Tate album, especially Empire and Mindcrime
Iron Maiden - the first five albums
Ozzy Osbourne - every album, being worked on while Sharon is locked up until after the release
James Newton Howard - too many to list them all
Depeche mode - every album, the Mute remasters were too loud
Metallica - every album, being worked on while Lars is locked up until after the release (and a proper remix for Justice)

They definitely can remaster lots of Queen albums, they will sell huge load of them considering recent resurgence in popularity.
My local store cannot even keep stock of new reissues, forget about any vinyl in reasonable quality...
It is not MY dream of course.
My dream would be much "smaller" bands - and it means it will never happen.
