I've bought X Dreams by Annette Peacock. It's an interesting album, it reminds me early Patti Smith

Maybe not a favourite just yet but I recently bought....

    Yola - Walk Through Fire....

which came out in 2019. She used to be the lead singer of the excellent soulful country-rock band Phantom Limb and the above is her fist full album. She's still mixing up soul and country but the emphasis is a little more towards the former on this record. She has a wonderfully warm yet powerful voice and the songwriting & arrangements are sublime.

    Highly recommended! :righton:

Sylvia Hotel - Cheryl Wheeler. Marvellous mix of her melancholy songs and her comedy routines. Pretty rare it's not even on Spotify. Apart from this, Hejira.

Does "Remastered in Vinyl" by Kate Bush count as an album in the context of this thread? If not, I suppose I'll go with "Hounds of Love".

I posted this earlier, but for some reason the picture didn't make it into the post, but the "Trio" album by Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton is one my all-time favorites by female artists.

    She's amazing.
This first album, despite being highly unconventional, was very succesful in France and she was everywhere back then, even on mainstream medias.
Her sophomore effort is almost as good.
