Probably Dusty in Memphis or At Last by Etta James. In thinking about this question, it just occurred to me that many of the female artists that I really like are in bands (Deborah Harry, Chrissie Hynde, Karen Carpenter, Ann Wilson, etc)...interesting.
(I wanted to pick Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Songbook, but it felt wrong to pick an album by a woman that's also an album by a man.)
Laura Nyro-Angel In The Dark.....It was her final recordings made in 1994 and 1995 and not released until 2000. To be honest, it's a toss up between Angel In The Dark and every other album she made.
