I bought Tyrannosaurus Hives and Winning Days by The Vines and that's about it. Really not a year to get excited about for me. I like some of Kasabian's and this was the year of their first album. It's been interesting to me when I stopped buying albums and it must be around 2004 the real slow down started.

  12. Graham 12" Remix

Graham 12" Remix Graham Sylvian, Graham Gedge or Graham from Felt

This is what I played most in 2004.

Bows + Arrows - The Walkmen
You are the Quarry - Morrissey
The Runaway Found - The Veils
Absent Friends - The Divine Comedy
    Hot Fuss - The Killers
    The Libertines - The Libertines
    White Light - Gene Clark
Back to Bedlam - James Blunt
No Cities Left - The Dears
Good News for People who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse
    Hopes and Fears - Keane
    Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
Our Troubles End Tonight - Lucky Jim
    Faded Seaside Glamour - Delays

Gene Clark was a reissue, obviously, and all the records were quite great, with nothing too obscure - I hope everybody is familiar with the Lucky Jim record. I've probably played Absent Friends most since 2004 and the James Blunt least. It's a bit sad to think that a few of these bands peaked with their debuts and never really got close to being so good again: you might say that Franz Ferdinand peaked before the vocals came in on the first hit. Bows + Arrows might not be a perfect album as it dominated by the Rat, but that one song was enough to make me endure the rest time and time again.
