I must admit I really wasn't paying to much attention to music in 2010. Going through various personal stuff but I've been slowly going back and discovering music from that year. Usual stipulations- anything released between Jan 1 and Dec 31 2010 is fair game. Play if you want. List as few or as many as you wish.

Here's my favorites from the year:
    1. Air Traffic Controller - The One
    2. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
    3. Girl Talk - All Day
    4. The Naked And Famous - Passive Me, Aggressive You
    5. The National - High Violet

    Re-issues and live albums:
    1. Otis Redding - Live At The Sunset Strip
    2. Charles Mingus & Eric Dolphy - The Complete Bremen Concert
    3. The Plimsouls - Live! Beg, Borrow Or Steal

My highest rated album of 2010 is apparently The Waves by Tamaryn, which is brilliant but does get criticised (unfairly, as it's a silly criticism of any album) for being heavily influenced by certain early 1990s artists. I wasn't into albums in 2010 and it's not a period I've revisited so heavily in that sense, so there's lots I haven't heard.

My favourite at the time was Happiness by Hurts. I really liked the '80s influences, which were only just coming back in then. They've never bettered it, but it's not aged as well as some albums either. I also liked Fire Like This by Blood Red Shoes a lot then, which I prefer now, but it's quite a poppy alternative album and I'd acknowledge there's probably an element of my taste for that sort of thing, so I wouldn't describe it as a great album.

I also liked, at the time, The Suburbs by Arcade Fire, Tourist History by Two Door Cinema Club, A Curious Thing by Amy Macdonald and Gilgamesh by Gypsy and the Cat. Clearly, my music taste was only just taking shape at that time.

I start to get a lot less familiar with albums around this time... Not to say there aren't good albums, just that I haven't made it to them ... I have a good number of albums from the 2010 -2018 period, but significantly less. Even some bands I know pretty well haven't gained my ear over this period much

I'll have to think back, but for now, I'll say that Katy Perry's Teenage Dream is a really fine album. She deservedly dominated the airwaves that year and the next.

Nina Nastasia is at the top of my 2010 list with Outlaster, sadly her last record before she kinda disappeared for quite a while, still hoping for something new next year since she does sing one song on the new Daniel Knox Chasescene album ...

Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kanye's masterpiece, as well as a fine entry point to rap for any skeptics. The album is proof that rap can truly be art

The only new release I think I bought in 2010 is Halcyon Times by Jason and the Scorchers. It's a great album.

I lost some interest at the beginning of the new millennium, so I did't follow it that much. Obviously there are good albums, but I haven' t bought many the last 2 decades.

For 2010 I guess my favorite album is Brothers from The Black Keys.
