One of my favorite B-sides is Dwight Twilley's studio recording of "Money," released on the flip of the 1979 Arista 45 release of "Somebody To Love." (The Arista album that was to include both sides of the single never came out. The album was extensively reworked, then released on EMI America three years later as Scuba Divers, with a greatly rearranged version of "Somebody To Love," but -- sadly -- missing "Money.")
Three come immediately to mind: "Ain't Gonna Move," the non-LP flipside of Sam the Sham's "Wooly Booly." Great raunchy blues shuffle! "Wait For Me Baby" by the New Vaudeville Band, flipside to "Winchester Cathedral." My guess is it's a leftover track that the producer cut in 1964-65, because it's a terrific Merseybeat toon, and nothing like the hit side. "Maybe We've Been Loving Too Long" the Flying Machine, flipside of "Smile A Little Smile For Me." Great power pop, with a terrific, edge-of-feedback guitar solo.
The Slits "I heard it through the grapevine" its not only one of the best ever b sides but also one of my all time favourite cover.

...Two girl-group goodies; " Ask Any Girl ", the Supremes. " Sophisticated Boom Boom ", the Shangri-Las! They weren't calling it " New Wave " or "Power Pop " yet: The Rubinoos, " As Long As I'm With You " (" I Think We're Alone Now ".). Oldies band tries to expand: Flash Cadillac & the Continental Kids, " Maybe It's All In My Mind " ("Did You Boogie (With Your Baby)) ".
...Wan't that kind of an intended double-A side? ndres lira, post: 17527407, member: 46883"]The Slits "I heard it through the grapevine" its not only one of the best ever b sides but also one of my all time favourite cover. [/QUOTE]

"...Mr. Steely Dan!" I worked in Classic Rock Radio for 17 years and snuck that gem in every time I possibly could
I saw a couple of Tom Petty songs mentioned which are excellent choices. My favorite non-album track b-side probably would be: Iron Maiden - Total Eclipse (should have made it on "The Number Of The Beast").
Iron Maiden had tons of killer b-sides. Live tracks we're fun but my favorite were the cover songs! Iron Maiden: The Cover Songs – Green and Black Music
