Parliament " Little Ole Country Boy"
Ed Sanders, the Fugs guy, with "Jimmy Joe the Hippie Billy Boy"
"Livin' Above My Station" - Martin Mull
Or, as they are acknowledged on the record, “the Stafford Brothers”.
That's a gooder. All right. All right. Hey! Settle down over there!
The Charlie Pride gag makes me a bit uncomfortable.
Don Henley - You're Not Drinking Enough
I've posted this before
Vernon Hawley, Jr. SNL
Not a parody per se, but a hilarious legendary performance:
The "Good Ole" Blues Brothers "Boys" - Theme from Rawhide.
Thanks for posting. Having no clue about the identity of the artist, I was intrigued by the title. Imagine my surprise at immediately recognizing the acoustic guitarist, Trey Hensley, my wife's cousin. My initial impression was that this was authentic country music because each musician in that band is talented in bluegrass and country, but the lyric does take the "daddy theme" into a hilarious if unconventional parody.
Besides talent, there's definitely some wit in that song.
Mac Wiseman - Johnny's Cash and Charley's Pride
When talkin' parody, you gotta go with the king.
Weird Al - "Achy Breaky Song"
Very funny. “…John Cage…..(silence)”
I'm At Home Getting Hammered (While She's Out Getting Nailed)
Mickey Katz, Borscht Riders In the Sky
Well done and equaling the parody that the proper song is.
