  2. I'm not a fan of 80's movies even though I was a kid and teenager on that decade (6 years old in 1980, 15 in 1989) and except for E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Alien's I don't have fond memories from 80's movies. As a kid I considered many of them to be silly and now being almost 45 I just added more silly movies from the 80's to my list.
I don't have any movie from 1989 I specially liked.

I was 10 years old in 1989, and therefore the perfect age for Xmas Vacation, Batman, Ghostbusters II and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Been a long time since I felt the need to watch any of those last three though.

    Other 1989 favourites:
    Heathers
    Pet Sematary
    Sex, Lies, and Videotape
    The Abyss
    Johnny Handsome
    Drugstore Cowboy
    Santa Sangre

Man I love the internet. Here are all the movies that I know I saw in the show in 1989. I was still in high school so it was prime movie going years. Many of these I saw at the $1.00 second run:

    Three Fugitives
    Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
    Fletch Lives
    Major League
    Say Anything
    Pet Sematary
See No Evil, Hear No Evil
    Road House
    Last Crusade
    Dead Poets Society
    Ghostbusters 2
    Batman
    Weekend at Bernie's
    Lethal Weapon 2
    Licence To Kill
    Eddie and Cruisers 2
    Look Who's Talking
    Back To The Future 2
Born On The 4th Of July
    Casualties Of War
    Driving Miss Daisy
    Tango and Cash
    We're No Angels

Funny enough I had a lot of "catch up" on cable and rental as far as the best movies:

    Heathers
    Field of Dreams
    Do The Right Thing
    When Harry Met Sally
    The Abyss
    Drugstore Cowboy
    Glory
    Fabulous Baker Boys

    Guilty pleasure - Shag!

Missed movies still to this day:

    Little Mermaid
    Crimes and Misdemeanors
    Last Exit To Brooklyn
    Lean On Me
    Mystery Train

Surprised to see how many people have Drugstore Cowboy on their lists. I haven't met a lot people that have even seen it. I know it was a fixture on late night cable back in the early 90's. That is where I first saw it.

I think that was when I first noticed the beautiful Heather Graham

The dialogue between Matt Dillion and William S. Burroughs was also memorable.

Oh yeah. No hats on the bed! ;)
