Can be a single track, a 78 with multiple tracks, early albums (as in literal albums of 78s bound together), a classical piece, a later compilation focusing on the year . . . whatever.

Doesn't have to be a list, though of course you can post a list if you want. You can also just post one title at a time as you think of it/run across it (which is what I do in these threads).

    Vaughn Monroe - "Let's Get Lost" / "Happy-Go-Lucky" [Victor 20-1524]

Which were both from the soundtrack for the 1943 romantic comedy film, Happy Go Lucky, starring Mary Martin, Dick Powell, Betty Hutton, Eddie Bracken and Rudy Vallee.

I was going to post the flipside, too, the title track to the film, but I can't find it on youtube at all, which is surprising to me in this case. :(

1943, tricky one what with the recording ban and all. The discographies give the recording date for this session by the Dexter Gordon Quintet as late 1943 or around July 1944 so this may or may not qualify.

Dexter Gordon Quintet - Sweet Lorraine. Despite being the titular leader 20-year old Dexter doesn't blow a note until 3.15 mins. in, generously ceding solo space first to Harry 'Sweets' Edison on trumpet and then Nat 'King' Cole on piano.

The choices are going to be fewer for 1943, since that was the middle of the 1942-44 American Federation of Musicians' recording strike over (lack of) royalty payments by the labels. Most of the hits from that year were recorded in June-July 1942, just before the strike took effect.
