Can be a single track, a 78 with multiple tracks, early albums, a classical piece, a later compilation focusing on the year . . . whatever.

Doesn't have to be a list, though of course you can post a list if you want. You can also just post one title at a time as you think of it/run across it (which is what I do in these threads).

For me, it has to be the 1947 re-recording of "White Christmas" performed by Bing Crosby:

One of the biggest hits in the history of the Billboard pop charts was this one, also the first big pop hit recorded in Nashville (for the then-new Bullet label). The all-but-forgotten pianist and bandleader Francis Craig hit #1 for 12 weeks on the sales chart, 13 weeks on the jukebox chart, and an astounding 17 weeks on the disc-jockey chart with "Near You":

The 17 weeks at #1 was a record that lasted for 72 years.

Craig was a two-hit wonder; a later single, "Beg Your Pardon," peaked at #3 in 1948.

It's certainly a prime exhibit for why rock & roll needed to happen  I'm almost afraid to ask, but what 2019 future classic topped that record?

"Thanks" I watched the video on YouTube. I'm really starting to understand how my Dad must have felt when I played him "Dead Babies" in 1972

Methinks that's it. But if you be into bluegrass, it's "Blue Moon of Kentucky." (the latter being re-recorded by more people than a mathematician could count...)

I nice swingin' standard that sounds much later than 1947. Great tune!

At least two all-time classic Christmas songs made their debut in 1947.

Inspired by children he overheard at the Hollywood Christmas parade a year earlier, Gene Autry co-wrote "Here Comes Santa Claus (Down Santa Claus Lane)" and took it into the top 10 during the holiday season of 1947:
