    It can be a single, album, a later compilation focusing on the year . . . whatever.

    Doesn't have to be a list, though of course you can post a list if you want. You can also just post one title at a time as you think of it/run across it (which is what I do in these threads).

    Interesting year. I only have 19 albums from 1956. All are Jazz. The thing is though I like each not one of the 19 stands out about the others as an absolute favorite.

    the material elvis presley recorded, and the material miles davis recorded for 1956 comes to mind.

    wasn't that the year miles went in the studio on two days and recorded those four albums 'workin, relaxin, steamin, cookin?

    and elvis's first full flowering into 'rock and roll' after sun, i think?
