Here's the earlier thread that closed, by the way:
Best New Albums of 2017 *

As usual, you don't have to do a big list all at once. I just post stuff as I listen to it.

I also don't like to require that people stick to albums. Post singles if you like, EPs, compilations--whatever. Just limit it to stuff released in 2017.

I must use the down time created by the kung flu to learn how to post links to music. In the meantime, 2017 gave me two albums that I rate as real all time favourites:

Andy Collins - Right Here, Right Now
Alan Doyle - A Week In The Warehouse

Andy bassist/occasional lead vocalist with The Storys, Swansea's and to the Eagles who released three excellent albums between 2004 and 2010. This is Andy's second solo record since the split, and, with the help of some of his erstwhile Storys band mates, he's created one of the best "Americana" singer songwriter albums ever to come out of the UK. Just wonderful!

Alan was one of the mainstays of Newfoundland folk legends Great Big Sea. A Week... is his third an best solo record. Tremendous songs &majestic playing throughout Folk, rock and pop all represented yet it feels like a coherent whole.

I would love everyone on the forum who enjoys singer-songwriter albums to give these two a listen!

Cool opportunity to go back and revisit some of my 2017 favorites!:righton:

I'd start off by mentioning The Magnetic Fields' 50 Song Memoir - definitely one of the standouts for me from that year.
