I don't normally pick favorites, but in the case of video games, it's Earthbound/MOTHER 2. It's one of two SNES RPGs I can play without consulting a walkthrough (Super Mario RPG is the other.) Currently playing the Japanese version (MOTHER 2) and other than occasionally consulting jisho.org for some words, and using a map of the Monkey Caves (my least favorite part of the game,) it's been about as easy to play as it is in English.

Bloodborne and Nier Automata were two that moved me deeply in this most recent console generation. It seems like that's getting harder as I get older.

Unreal Tournament 1999 & 2004 (PC). Stupid FPS multiplayer fun from Epic. I've avoided Fortnite as I assume it's the logical progression of addictive dumb fun that Epic started with UT. It also had a *fantastic* mod ecosystem, including RPG mods, and an insane weapons mod that added nearly everything - pitchforks, swords, shotguns, revolvers, black hole generators, shrink rays, freeze rays, etc...

Streets of Rage 2 (Genesis) An old beat-em-up, and my favorite console game of all time. Multiplayer is an absolute blast.

Pretty much any of the Elder Scrolls games, as I'm a sucker for epic, open-world RPGs.

Minecraft (PC) - Because building stuff is very Zen.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 - Because you get to be a friggin' Jedi, and it's perfect. In the last stages, you take on entire legions of storm troopers, and the battles go exactly how you would expect them to go with a fully experienced Jedi - force-push a platoon off a cliff, redirect a missile back at a missile launcher, destroying it. Slice through a half-dozen storm troopers at a time. Then, hop in an AT-AT and go on a rampage.

I'm a big fan of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games, where you can control a group of 4 characters from a big roster of the company's characters.

Played through the first game originally on a PSP, it's phenomenal. The 2nd game was a bit lamer in story but expanded the roster to include some playable villains like Green Goblin, Venom and Carnage, which I really liked.

The 3rd was only released for the Nintendo Switch for some reason, and I just got a used copy of it last week. Just started it today, it's pretty fun so far.

I really love the Fallout games, and Ratchet and Clank, and the first Red Dead Redemption, but the only answer to this question is Skyrim, 100%.
