That 4 CD set was one of my ebay bargains, I paid £12 for it.

There's one on discogs at the moment for £100, seems a decent price for a 16 CD set c/w Colin Escott written hardback book.

I've had a short "wish list" of possible box sets of artists.
Recently, I had Hank Ballard on my mind, the man who gave Ernest Evans his career.
I did some searching on The Interwebs™️ and found that Bear Family Records still has Nothing But Good 1952-1962 still available.
While going through "the dance of the order" at their website, I saw that there were only two delivery choices available: DHL and UPS.
I've heard of DHL but never dealt with them as a carrier.
I did a "Search" on this Forum and found some unfavourable comments about their service, or lack thereof.
I opted for something called "UPS WW Express Saver", the more expensive of the two options, with the order placed on Sunday 14 October.
There was a certain amount of apprehension when a follow-up email on 16 October told me...

We have good news for you, your order – of 15.10.2018 02:17:40has been recently shipped to Niagara Falls the invoice and the delivery note with no. BAF194385 of 16.10.2018 11:52:37 is enclosed in the package. Your package has been handed over to our shipment service provider on 16.10.2018 13:10:35 and you will surely receive it soon!
Unfortunately, there is no tracking ID.

Their next email, on 18 October, advised me that the order would be delivered the following day.
On Friday 19 October (today) I received my order.

This is my first Bear Family Records box set. Ergo...

I haven't begun the initial aural immersion, so...
    Please, no spoiler alerts.

The box, as I recall, hinted there would be a Volume 2. Never happened

Because there isn't much on the horizon until Lefty for Christmas, I went ahead and bought The Sun Country Box. I already have about half the songs on single-artist CDs, but the other half are nearly impossible to find elsewhere.

I'm a bit surprised they would hint at that. His complete '64-'67 recordings fit on one disc, and after that he got into funk and disco which Bear Family doesn't typically cover: Hank Ballard & The Midnighters - Freak Your Boom Boom

Must have set, on a Porter bender at the moment.

Would love a real complete set on him, as my collection is a little bare bones.
I know he has a set 'thin man', which I don't own either.
Love the dark and mentally deranged tunes.
This is one of those happy ending songs.
    :sigh:

I've been watching the Porter Wagoner Show's on Youtube, and then put 2 and 2 together and then realised his
rhythm guitar player was George McCormick. I wasn't prevalent to this George and Earl release, but after listening
to some of these tunes, it's a clear must have release.
I might be late to the party, but you guys are the best for acknowledging great information and the not so known greats!

Very nice! Coincidentally, I was just meaning to mention how Bear Family should reissue some of its old vinyl-only releases on CD. The ones who have never made the jump to CD (possibly on anny label) include...

Dane Stinit - Original Sun Recordings

Martha Carson - Satisfied (Music Drives Me Crazy, Especially Rock'n Roll)

Luke Wills' Rhythm Busters - High Voltage Gal

Audrey Williams (2) - Ramblin' Gal

He kept telling her to put them in the covers, but she wouldn't do it. So now all she has is the covers to look at and remember one of life's important lessons.

Sonny Burns' post-Starday recordings came in the other day. Pretty good stuff, my favourite being this one from 1959. It would have made for a better title track than "The Devil's Disciple", not that it matters though.

It must be one of these:
What’s it about? - Black Europe
There is only made 500 of this one.
Bear Family must have lost tons of money on this.
This must also be one of small sellers:
