“Borrowing Time” and “Things Will Be Better” by The Byrds. Both are short, somewhat underdeveloped Chris Hillman songs from their often-maligned self-titled 1973 album, but they are still very catchy and I really like them.

I wouldn’t consider “Hey Bulldog” a filler track, in spite of it being relegated to an afterthought soundtrack album. There’s a video for it on TheBeatlesVEVO, it’s one of the most acclaimed Beatles songs (at least from musicians). And I have a good feeling that it’s responsible for a big chunk of Yellow Submarine sales.

And yes, Beatles filler is still better than a lot of other artists’ finest. IMO, of course.

Hey Bulldog is the only reason to buy the Yellow Submarine album.

Every song with the word "doctor" in it is bad.

I suppose I can take some consolation from the fact that it's not the "Robert" that is problematic.

"I'll Remember" by The Kinks is filler, IIRC it was left over from their last album recording sessions. But damn if I don't absolutely love that song!

Gene and the Caps had a way with standards. "Jezebel" is their best, I think. "Up a Lazy River" is pretty cool, as well.

I never thought of "Androgynous" as filler. To me, it's the other BIG track after "I Will Dare".

The man himself called it "filler" and dedicated it to "All you filler freaks".

    I love that song, too.

Back to filler, I nominate R.E.M.'s Underbeath the Bunker from Life's Rich Pageant.
