Based simply upon the albums in your collection who are your most important artists of the 2010's's? Mine are:
    • Bill Frisell
    • Charles Bradley
    • Dave Alvin
    • Eric Bibb
    • Gary Clark Jr.
    • Justin Townes Earle
    • Ryan Adams
    • Snarky Puppy
    • William Tyler
For this series of threads I just posted for myself I used a minimum of 4 albums per decade to "qualify" as "most important". I don't really care what others may have used I am just interested in your opinions. Certainly the methodology I chose has left a lot of my very favorites off the lists simply because they weren't as prolific in any particular decade.

P.S. I started with the 1950's because that is when I was born and my collection begins.

The first one that came to my mind, don't even have a place in my CD drawer...but, they're all over my hard drive!
That's the "big story" about the 2000's, so they're not really my favorite group, but they're significant for that.
It's Pomplamoose, a major draw on YouTube, as well as the founder of Patreon. Which is also pretty significant.

You'll find a lot of these in my cabinet - and rotating all over the house:
    Tina Dico
    Ben Folds
    Delerium/Conjure One
    Imogen Heap
    Above & Beyond
Aurora, Agnes Obel, Sigrid, Maggie Rogers, Birdy & Ingrid Michaelson are newcomers to the forefront.

And I spent most of the 2010's assembling a playlist of discoveries for a radio project, so there's a lot of esoteric stuff in my world these days.
(Also, thanks to renewed efforts of the ZFT, you could/should also qualify a lot of recent purchases of Zappa to the list from this decade! )

These New Puritans. They released three ambitious studio albums in this period, Hidden (2010), Field Of Reeds (2013) and Inside The Rose (2019) as well as live album Expanded (2014). Field Of Reeds would be my suggestion for anyone wishing to check them out.

Important is a big word ... so I am going to say important to me.

    Devin Townsend
    Nick Cave
Neil Morse - Transatlantic, Flying Colors, and others
Mike Portnoy - is there anyone he doesn't play drums with.
Rival Sons - not big picture important, but important in reminding me that some new bands could still write some good rock songs.

Probably some others, but that's all that is coming to mind

I will add to my list quoted here one of my fave songs of the 2010's (which I had heard on the radio and was identified by a kind member on the forum).

Her video is funnier than the total output that her father, the absolutely atrocious Rob Schneider, ever did:
