Gonna go see Nik Turner whilst I'm down in New Orleans for Halloween, he's touring to promote his new album. Not bad for a 77 year old...

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit tomorrow night.
I cannot wait. He seems to be continuing his nightly Tom Petty cover versions too, having done Refugee last night in Manchester.
    What will we get?

    U.S. Girls on Halloween
Courtney Barrett/Kurt Vile 3 days later
Candice Mowbray 2 days after that
Los Angeles Guitar Quartet 12 days after that

Long ago and far away, 3 concerts in 1 week would not seem such a daunting logistical prospect....However, opportunities conspire where they will.

It was a terrific gig last night .. But RT's humour was silly ... for the Brits who'll understand he's morphing into Frank Spencer ...ooh Betty ...

Jealous. Patti has retreated from a never-ending tour schedule in the States the last few years, preferring to save her rock and roll mojo for European festivals, which is... okay. Market conditions change. When I went to see Horses/40 at the Beacon in NYC in 2015, she hadn't done a headlining rock show in Philly since ....2007 for Twelve? Were it not for Neil Young, and an attentive friend in Baltimore, I would have missed her entirely in 2012.

Is the Kaye/Shanahan/Daugherty band completely jettisoned at this point?
  18. Stevie Nicks/The Pretenders next week.
Then a terrific run of Paul Weller,Ben Folds,The War On Drugs,Robert Plant and First Aid Kit-all in 1500-2000 seat venues- over the next several months.
