I'm seeing Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt day after tomorrow in Rochester, Minnesota. Sunday night a friend announced he had an extra ticket and I jumped on it.

John McLaughlin & Jimmy Herring: The Meeting of the Spirits Tour

The Meeting of the Spirits Tour features two of world’s foremost improvising guitarists – John McLaughlin, the jazz-fusion virtuoso, who will revisit the pioneering music he introduced with his deeply influential, genre-defying Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jimmy Herring, best known for his inspired contributions to the Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, and The Dead. Both guitarists will perform full sets of music with their respective bands John McLaughlin’s Fourth Dimension and Jimmy Herring’s Invisible Whip – and finish the night together.

I'm just listening to their last one right now :it's very good. Hope they will do great :the Ride show on tuesday was great though rather short. I regret having not worn ear protections.A little more than one hour. Will tjmc play longer than half an hour?

Just saw this now. Kaye/Shanahan/Daugherty are still there. She is much bigger in Europe.......the crowds are much more passionate. I've gone out there to see's a big difference. 2007 was her last real US activity. Now it's usually only the west coast, Chicago, Detroit, and New York......and even New York a lot less than before (though she still lives there).

Traveled from Oregon to Philly last weekend to see The Hooters. Last night of the tour 15th row center. Unbelievable.

Next up Brian Setzer on 12/27. Maybe John McLaughlin in between.
  24. Already mentioned Warren Haynes' Xmas Jam in early December but 2018 is also filling in quite nicely with...

Tedeschi Trucks Band (w/ Amy Ray of Indigo Girls and her band opening)
    Neko Case
    Aimee Mann
    Del McCoury
    Lucia Micarelli (wonderful violinist)
    St. Vincent

...all coming through this relatively small city in the mountains in Jan-Feb. Pretty darned excited. :D
